1. Uni-Wahlen

Es finden Uni-Wahlen statt.  Wieder einmal online [0]!

Eure Stimme könnt ihr noch bis Mittwoch, den 15. Juni, 17 Uhr abgeben.

Gewählt werden das Studierendenparlament, die Fachschaftsvertretungen,
der Senat sowie die Konvente der einzelnen Fakultäten.

Senat und Konvente sind Gremien der Universität und haben im Rahmen der
akademischen Selbstverwaltung Gewalt über all die Entscheidungen, die
dem Studium seine Form geben, die es hat oder haben soll -- etwa
darüber, welche Module zu absolvieren sind.

Innerhalb der Informatik- bzw. Mathematikstudiengänge könnt Ihr Menschen
für den Konvent sowie für die Fachschaftsvertretung wählen.

Die Fachschaftsvertretung ist, ebenso wie das Studierendenparlament, ein
rein studentisches Organ.  Die Fachschaft ist konstituiert aus den
Studierenden je eines Fachbereiches, etwa also der Mathematik oder der
Informatik einschließlich der Wirtschaftsinformatik.

Wir, als (gewählte) Fachschaftsmenschen, bieten Euch einerseits direkte
Angebote wie etwa Beratung, Ersti-Veranstaltungen oder Spieleabende,
sind andererseits aber auch in vielen offiziellen Ausschüssen und
dergestalten vertreten, etwa in Berufungskommissionen, die maßgeblich
darüber entscheiden, an wen eine Professur vergeben wird.

Die Möglichkeit Studierender, derart mitzubestimmen, ist keinesfalls
selbstverständlich; nicht jede Universität in Deutschland verfügt über
eine verfaßte Studierendenschaft.  Studentische Organe ohne studentische
Legitimierung sind tote Organe.

2. Grillfest & Best-Prof-Award

Unser alljährliches Grillfest kommt zurück!
 * Freitag, 22. Juli  -  Ende des Prüfungszeitraumes
 * Wiese am neuen MathSem  -  Heinrich-Hecht-Platz

Alle Studierenden, Lehrenden und Mitarbeitenden sind herzlich
eingeladen!

Alkoholfreie Getränke werden - solange der Vorrat reicht - kostenlos
zur Verfügung gestellt.  Alkoholische Getränke werden zum
Selbstkostenpreis ausgegeben.

Endlich wird auch wieder der Best-Prof-Award vergeben werden.  Zu
Nominierungen für den Best-Prof-Award erhaltet Ihr nochmal separat
Infos.

3. Spieleabende

Unser Spieleabend findet wieder in Präsenz statt!
 * An jedem 2. Donnerstag im Monat, ab 18 Uhr, in LMS2.

Wir haben einige Spiele da, bringt aber auch gerne selbst welche mit!

Es gibt Softgetränke und Snacks kostenlos, Bier und Glasflaschenlimo
gegen Spende.

Es gilt Maskenpflicht.

4. Engagement in der Fachschaft

Die Fachschaft sucht immer neue Menschen, die Lust haben, sich zu
engagieren.  Wir setzen uns ein für Belange der Studierenden und bemühen
uns auf verschiedene Art und Weise, das Studium der Mathematik sowie der
Informatik mitzugestalten und zu verbessern, Probleme zu lösen, im
Allgemeinen, wie auch im konkreten Einzelfall.

Weiter organisieren wir viele Veranstaltungen, wie etwa Parties,
Spieleabende, Skat- und Doppelkopfturniere.  Auch hier sind helfende
Menschen immer sehr willkommen.

Auch für unsere IT suchen wir immer neue Menschen.

1. University elections

There are elections held at university.  On-line, once again [4].

Elections are important.  University elections are elections.  Hence
they are important.  Logics.

You can cast your vote 'til Wednesday 15 June, 17:00.

There is one ballot for the students' parliament, one for the student
council (on the level of your area of studies), further the university's
senate and, for each faculty, its “Konvent”.

The senate and each “Konvent” are officiale panels at university.  In
line with the principle of academic autonomy, they make decisions that
give the studies at this university the concrete form they have or
should have, for example regarding the contents of a particular study
programme.

Amongst us, the people in the students' association of mathematics and
informatics, you can vote for people to enter the “Konvent” and to be
student representative in the respective student council.

This “Fachschafts-Vertretung“ is, just like the students' parliament, a
body entirely made up of students.  The “Fachschaft” is constitued by
all students in a particular area of studies (e.g., mathematics or
informatics) and any of these constituants may cast their ballot for the
“Fachschafts-Vertretung“

We, as elected students' representatives offer to you on the one hand
direct benefits, such as counceling, events for new students or the game
nights.  On the other hand, we work in several committees and the like,
for example we take part in deciding who becomes a professor.

The students' possibiliy to take part in such decisions, is not to be
taken for granted; not each german university allows for this kind of
student's power.  Students' representation without legitimiation is no
representation.

2. Barbecue & Best-Prof Award

Our annual barbecue is back!
 * Friday, 22 july  -  end of examination period
 * Grass area next to the MathSem  -  Heinrich-Hecht-Platz

Non-alcoholic beverages are offered for free, as far as our supply
allows.  Alcoholic beverages are offered for the price they cost us.

In the context of this barbecue, there will also be issued the Best-Prof
Award honoring the perceived best lecturers at both the institute of
informatics and the mathematical seminar.

We will inform you separately on how to nominate best profs.

3. Game nights

Our game nights are back off-line!
 * Each month's 2nd Thursday, by 6 p.m., in LMS2.

We have quite a few games available but feel free to bring your own!

Soft drinks and snacks are offered for free, beer and glass bottled
lemonade for a donation.

4. Engagement in the students' association

We are always looking for people that are motivated to engage with us.
We speak for the students' issues, work on improving the studies and
help to solve problems, whether they are general or concrete.

Further, we organize plenty of events, such as parties, game nights or
card game tournaments.

Our IT team also always welcomes new members.

We'd be happy to meet you there.  We will gladly do our meeting in
English.
