Riot is a modern Chatprogram. Matrix the name of the corresponding protocol.

Chat rooms may for example be set up for small groups collaborating in a course or large ones like all the attendees to a certain course.
Usage
- Web frontend
- Recommended: Firefox or Chrom{e,ium}
- Desktop client and mobile client programs [1] [2] [3]
- As homeserver, set <matrix.fs-infmath.uni-kiel.de> (not <riot.fs-infmath.uni-kiel.de>).
