1. Doppelkopfturnier

Das diessemestrige Doppelkopfturnier findet am Freitag, dem 20. Juni
2019, um 18 Uhr in den Übungsräumen der LMS 2 statt.  Zum Mitspielen
eingeladen sind all jene, die Freude am Doppelkopf finden, seien sie
Anfängerinnen, Fortgeschrittene -- oder alles Mitzählende.

Es finden zwei bis drei Runden à 12 Spiele statt.  Die zweite und dritte
Runde wird je nach bisherigen Punktzahlen zusammengesetzt, auf daß jeder
Tisch ein in etwa kohärentes Niveau aufweist.  Es gibt Preise für die
ersten Plätze, Knabberkram und Softgetränke für alle, weitere Getränke
zum Selbstkostenpreis.

3. Orientierungseinheit

Dieses Jahr soll die OE vom 03.-05.10 (Donnerstag - Samstag)
stattfinden.  Dafür benötigen wir wieder viele helfende Hände.

Am Donnerstag von 15:00 bis 18:00 Uhr brauchen wir ca. 30-35 helfende
Personen für die Spielegruppen.  Wir würden uns wünschen, wenn von jedem
Fach Menschen vertreten sind.  Insbesondere Menschen aus der
Wirtschaftsinformatik wären wichtig.

Am Freitag soll es dann von 15:00 bis 19:00 Uhr wieder eine Rallye
geben.  Für die gesamte Rallye benötigen wir 20-25 helfende Personen.

Schlussendlich brauchen wir ebenfalls Leute für den Samstag.  Hier
hatten wir geplant in Gruppen Kiel und Umgebung zu erkunden.  In den
letzten Jahren gab es z.B. eine Stadtführung, eine Pokémon Go Tour, eine
Fahrradtour und eine Mr. X Spielrunde.  Eine Schnitzeljagd fänden wir
auch sehr schön.  Wir freuen uns über jede Menge Hilfe.

4. Engagement in der Fachschaft

Die Fachschaft sucht immer neue Menschen, die Lust haben sich zu
engagieren.  Wir setzen uns ein für Belange der Studierenden und bemühen
uns auf verschiedene Art und Weise, das Studium der Mathematik sowie der
Informatik mitzugestalten und zu verbessern, Probleme zu lösen, im
Allgemeinen, wie auch im konkreten Einzelfall.

Weiter organisieren wir viele Veranstaltungen, wie etwa Parties,
Spieleabende, Skat- und Doppelkopfturniere.  Auch hier sind helfende
Menschen immer sehr willkommen.

Wir treffen uns i.A. jeden Montag um 18 Uhr im Raum LMS2 / Ü2 zu einer
Sitzung.  Komm' gerne mal vorbei!

5. Spieleabend

Immer am 2. Donnerstag im Monat ab 18 Uhr in Ü3.

Am kommenden Donnerstag (14.06.) ist es mal wieder Zeit für den
monatlichen Spieleabend.  Dieser findet nach wie vor monatlich statt.

Es wird gespielt worauf auch immer Ihr gerade Lust habt, wir selbst
haben so einiges an Spielen, aber bringt gerne Eure Lieblingsspiele
mit.  Wir stellen Softgetränke und Knabberkram; Bier, Fritz und Cider
gibt es zum Selbstkostenpreis.

Wir freuen uns über jeden Menschen, der vorbeischaut und auf entspannte
Abende mit Euch!

Hiwi-Jobs - Aktuell sucht das MathSem für das kommende Semester viele
            Hiwis zur Korrektur und Betreuung von Übungsgruppen mit
            individueller Stundenzahl.  Schaut doch mal auf unserer

0. Introduction

This is the newsletter of the students' association of mathematics and
informatics.  It is issued roughly two to three times a semestre.  Until
now it was only available in German, however this issue is to change
this.  We hope you benefit from reading this and further newsletters (in
English).

1. Doppelkopf tournament

More or less every semestre, we organize a Doppelkopf tournament, so we
do in this semestre on friday, june 20th.  It takes place in one of the
rooms in LMS 2 and begins at six in the afternoon.

Doppelkopf is a quite well known german card game.  In order to
participate in the tournament, the knowledge of the rules is expected,
however nothing more.  If you are interested, and would like to learn
the rules in advance, contact us - there will certainly be a possibility
for you to get in touch with some Doppelkopf players in advance.

There are two to three rounds à 12 games.  The second and third round's
tables will be composed according to the respectively current points, so
that at any table, there is a more or less coherent level.  There will
be prices for the best few players.  Snacks and soft drinks are offered
for free, other beverages are available at small cost.

3. Orientation week

Each start of a winter's semester, we organize an orientation week for
the new students.  This year, it takes place between the third and fifth
octobre (thursday - saturday).  As always we need a lot of helping hands.

On thursday between 15 and 18 o'clock, we need roughly 30-35 helpers for
the game groups.  We'd hope every subject to be represented belong the
helpers.

On friday, there will be a rallye between 15 and 19 o'clock.  For this,
we need 20-25 helpers.

Finally, we also need people on saturday.  There, we have planned to
explore Kiel and its surroundings.  In the last years there were for
example a guided city tour, a Pokémon Go Tour, a bike tour and a Mr. X
game round.  We also like the idea of a paper chase.  We are happy about
any help.

4. Engagement in the students' association

We are always looking for people, that are motivated to engage with us.
We speak for the students' issues, work on improving the studies and
help to solve problems, whether they are general or concrete.

Further, we organize plenty of events, such as parties, game nights or
card game tournaments.

We generally meet every monday at six in the afternoon, in LMS2 / ü2.
We'd be happy to meet you there.  We will gladly do our meeting in
English.

5. Game night

On every second thursday of a month, by six o'clock in the afternoon, in
LMS 2 / Ü3.

On the upcoming thursday (june 14th), it's time again for a game night.

There are played many different games and you are welcome to bring your
own.  Soft drinks and snacks are offered for free.  Alcoholic beverages
some at a small price.

We welcome everybody coming by and are looking forward to a nice game
night.

6. Other stuff

Hiwi-Jobs - The mathematical seminar is currently searching for lots of
            so called HiWis to help with correcting students' homework
            and to give tutorials.  For further information, have a look
            at our job market [1].
